Talking Dog in the Produce Section

This is a new comic strip I posted on my blog today.

This is a little mini story that is going to be several "episodes" long, and I think the idea is pretty funny, but to me the funniest thing about this strip is the little old lady sniffing produce while the rest of the action is taking place. We've all seen this person. It's a man as often as a woman, but either way this person is usually elderly, usually so near sighted you can tell what they've been reading by the ink smudges on their faces, and they hover over produce like the world's only vegetarian vulture just waiting for it to be perfectly ripe. They're always the ones who will pull out a cantaloupe, check it for soft spots, tap it, smell it, bounce it in their hands to test the wait, shake it, and then set it on the floor in a circle of salt and cast out the unclean spirits before deciding they didn't really want it after all and they put it back on the shelf.
